“Citing concerns over cost and environmental damage, the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners voted 9 to 1 Tuesday to oppose a project to create a powerboat link between Grand Rapids and Lake Michigan by dredging the Grand River.”
“‘Opposition was overwhelming, and we need to listen to the people from Ottawa County, and that was what happened today,’ said Greg DeJong, who chairs the board of commissioners.”
