The Grand Haven City Council and the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners have both approved resolutions that oppose the Grand River Waterway project that would dredge 22.5 miles of the Grand River between the Fulton Street bridge in Grand Rapids and the Bass River inlet in Ottawa County.

There is more work to be done to put an end to the project. Please contact your state and federal legislators to educate them about the negative impacts the project would have and ask for their support in getting the Michigan legislature to cancel the appropriation or reassign it for activities that would improve the environment in the Grand River Valley.
